rain....50 and flooded.....5/24/25
Farm Story - I am in awe...of my genetic work...watching it play out...is so humbling.......takes so much time.
I recently learned that Mike McClintock, Boone County Extension, has retired. I didn't know this. He was the first gentleman to show me how to trim hooves, and he thought I was absolutely crazy.......
There's a glimmer of sun in the sky now....feels like it's been raining for days.... I don't remember when exactly, but I think it was June last year, when the MC nursing home in Yellville flooded very badly.... We are 45 minutes from the town.and had 9 inches of rain here.....the gravel wash out...created a pond and dam all at the same time...at the farm....as well as taking our roads into the farm down to bedrock...and the most inconvenient...was our main county road...was all tore up....living in the heart of Ozarks...all rock...and very hilly.....water run off for dayssss......our phone lines were all exposed...broken...no internet.....what a mess.....This too shall pass.....good thing our mower is fixed!
My rose bush has made a comeback too...the deer love it....I remember James Rhien...a beekeeper friend of ours...from a long time ago...always planted his garden Memorial Day weekend....I understand this now more and more...Where is summer...?
Last days of babies here....taking Tylenol with coffee..stiff and sore...times of can't see the forest through the trees..kinda busy...craziness...Jim is currently working a 14-day stretch....and of course we have more rain coming!
Frazzled...grateful...girls took a big lead over the weekend.
oh and I got our hay taken care of
I think I lost 10 lbs , lol Happy Monday!
